Tempest Games
Catch Meow If You Can
The Challenge
Tempest Games was building toward the 29 October release of Catch Meow If You Can, a four player online co op survival game where you play an award winning house cat defending the mansion while the owner is away. The premise is instantly legible in motion and almost impossible to explain in a store screenshot, which is exactly the profile that rewards short form video.
The page needed volume, not a slow drip. With the release date set, the studio wanted enough independent creators publishing close together that the game would read as a moment rather than a listing, and it wanted the result measured in its own Steamworks data rather than in platform dashboards.
The Approach
The campaign ran tiered CPM pricing at $6 / $4 / $3 across TikTok, YouTube Shorts and Instagram Reels, dedicated videos only.
58 creators self enrolled and published 111 videos, 97 of them inside the first day. Tracked views reached 2,372,383, with Instagram Reels at 1.14 million and TikTok at 1.09 million, almost a dead heat, and YouTube Shorts taking the rest. Because views kept accruing after creator caps were reached, the effective CPM settled at $1.01 against a $6 nominal top rate.
The studio shared its Steamworks Wishlist Actions for the surrounding period. The page had been close to flat before the clips landed. It took roughly 3,400 wishlist adds on the day after the first wave, then held between 450 and 650 a day for the following two weeks rather than falling back to where it started. Across 8 to 24 September the page recorded 12,402 adds against 441 deletes, or 11,961 net, at about $0.20 per net wishlist.
The regional split is worth reading twice: Western Europe first at 3,195 adds, North America second at 2,775, then Central Asia at 1,868, ahead of Latin America at 1,637. None of those markets were targeted.
